Modernstone, a BSW Public Auction Purchase for client Bobby Flay out of the 2016 Keeneland November sale, made headlines on Tuesday selling for £1 million at “The World’s Most International Thoroughbred Sale” – Tattersall’s December Mare Sale.

Boasting a strong race record and serious European pedigree, it only made sense that Modernstone be sent overseas and covered by world leading sire – Galileo. The savvy move was quickly rewarded in the auction ring as the hammer fell for the equivalent of $1,415,190. She was sold to John O’Conner of Ballylinch Stud and will reside in Ireland. View her pedigree here.

This was not only a win for BSW Client Bobby Flay, who turned a $350,000 investment in 2015 into a $1.4 million reward in 2017, but also for consignor Baroda Stud as this sale marked its first ever seven figure offering sold.
