Rymska, bred in France, but purchased after her American debut on behalf of Madaket Stables, Long Lake, Tom Coleman, Jay Hanley and Norton Herrick. She was coming into the Grade 1 Jenny Wiley in the best form of her career, having just won the G2 Hillsborough. Prior to that race, she was a multiple Grade 3 winner, who had endured some rough luck since coming to America, including when having to scratch as the favorite in the Grade 1 American Oaks in 2017.
Rymska paired 97 Beyers to run 2nd to Breeders’ Cup champion and multiple Grade 1 winner, Rushing Fall.
Since being purchased, Rymska has been in the exacta in 8 of her 10 races, featuring four graded stakes wins and a career high 104 Beyer Speed Figure. She has only missed the board in the G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf at 2 and the G1 Matriarch last year.
Her sire, Le Havre, who has become one of the top sires in Europe, has had particularly good success with his fillies, including the undefeated multiple G1 winner La Cressonniere, who was favored for the G1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe before picking up an injury.
