It was announced on Tuesday that Catholic Boy, privately purchased and syndicated by BSW Bloodstock, would stand at Claiborne Farm upon his retirement.
Campaigned by Robert LaPenta, Madaket Stables, Siena Farm and Twin Creeks Racing, Catholic Boy took his four year old debut last Saturday when winning the G2 Dixie at Pimlico.
A graded stakes winner at ages two, three and now four, Catholic Boy captured last year’s G1 Travers on dirt and G1 Belmont Derby on turf, joining Secretariat and California Chrome as the third horse to ever G1 races on both turf and dirt at three.
Catholic Boy will likely make his next start on the dirt and has a chance to be at the head of the class in the handicap division this year.
