A couple of BSW private purchases wrapped up their 2019 seasons over the weekend, both of which seem primed to make even bigger splashes in 2020.
Hello Beautiful, an August BSW private purchase on behalf of Madaket Stables, John Frasetto, K-mac Stables, Mark Parkinson, Dan Carroll, Eric Rebhan and Magic City Stables, dominated a field of Maryland-bred two year old fillies on her way to an 11 3/4 length victory in the Maryland Juvenile Filly Championship, beating 2nd place finisher and fellow BSW private purchase, Miss J McKay, who we look forward to getting back on the turf in 2020.
The win saw her earn a 95 Beyer Speed Figure, the top Beyer earned by a two year old filly this year and the third best Beyer earned by any two year old this year.
At Gulfstream Park, Shekky Shebaz, privately purchased after a win against $25,000 claimers at Saratoga, annexed the Claiming Crown Canterbury Stakes. This win comes a month after an outstanding 3rd place finish in the G1 Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint.
For his efforts on Saturday, Shekky Shebaz earned a 100 Beyer Speed Figure, his fourth straight 100+ Beyer in as many starts since his purchase.
