Two colts who were purchased as pinhooks for the Crow/Sharp partnership produced a great return on investment when they went through the ring at the OBS March Sale. Hip 498, a colt by Tiz the Law out of Saucy Symphony (First Samurai) was purchased as part of the venture at the Keeneland September Sale for $90,000 and sold for $610,000 to Hideyuiki Mori – a top 10 price for a colt in the sale. He breezed in 9.4, the shared second fastest time of the sale.
Hip 687, a colt by Maclean’s Music out of Wild at Midnight (Midnight Lute) was purchased at the Fasig Tipton July Yearling Sale for $170,000 and sold for $575,000 to Legion Bloodstock, agent for Jason Werth’s Icon Racing at OBS March. He breezed in 10 flat.
We wish the best of luck to all the new connections and will be following along as these colts progress to the races.
